Susan Terrones

An unexpected change in my life gave me the extraordinary opportunity to follow my true calling: painting.

I started my career when I moved from Lima-Perú to Maputo-Mozambique. Suddenly everything changed in my life and painting became my way of life.

I learnt the principles of painting with my grandfather and as an adult I have studied in the places where I have lived, Maputo, Madrid, and London where I graduated with a bachelors degree in Fine Arts with specialization in Contemporary Portraiture in The Art Academy. Now in Ankara I am learning ebru and kilim weaving techniques.

I am interested in different supports and media as a way of constant exploration to express my themes of interest, belonging and identity, always present in my depictions as a response to my transition from my hometown to other countries.

I exhibited in Çağdaş Sanatlar Merkezi Çankaya Belediyesi (2023), Çankaya Belediyesi Sanat Galerisi Keçioren (2023), London at the Graduation Show Art Academy (2022), Highgate Gallery, “Life after life” (2022), on-line exhibition “100 Days of Solitude” (2020), Newington Gallery “Beyond the Likeness” (2020), Foundation Degree Graduation Show (2020), “Entre pixeles y pinceles” (Madrid, 2018).
